How can I copy my Outlook, Eudora or Thunderbird address book to the web version of the CHCS mail system?

First, export your addresses to a CSV (comma-delimited) file. Most email programs can do this. For instance:

Outlook Express

  • Go to the File menu and select Export | Address Book.
  • In the box that appears, select "Text File (Comma Separated Values)".
  • Click on Export.
  • Save the file somewhere convenient, like your desktop.
  • Now go to "Import," below.

Thunderbird

  • Click on the Address Book to open it.
  • Go to the Tools menu in the Address Book, and select Export.
  • At the bottom of the box that appears, change Save As Type to "Comma Separated".
  • Next to File Name, give the file a name, and save it somewhere convenient, like your desktop.
  • Now go to "Import," below.

Apple Mail

  • There is a free utility that will create a CSV file from your Address Book. Get it here.
  • Save the file somewhere convenient, like your desktop.
  • Now go to "Import," below.

Import

  • Now log in to the web mail at http://mail.[YOUR DOMAIN NAME].com.
  • Click on Contacts at the left of the screen.
  • At the bottom of the screen, click on Import.
  • Under "Please select a file to upload" click on Browse and select the CSV file you created above.
  • Once the filename displays in the text field, click on Import.
